Vegan pizza

Sage's Cafe is the only vegan restaurant in Salt Lake. Some of the food is really good, some is average, but every Tuesday they have the best (and most fun) deal in town: All-You-Can-Eat Pizza Night. Vegan pizza? How can this be? Well, sometimes they use vegan cheeses in place of real cheese, and sometimes it's cheese-less pizza. In either case, it's almost always really good. The kitchen staff makes dozens of different kinds of pizza and the waitstaff take them around to each table, tell you what it is and give you a piece (if you want one). All-you-can-eat salad is included as well. (All for $9.75...a good deal.)

D and I went last night and had the following types of pizza:

Philly Cheese Steak and Mushroom
Candied Walnuts, Spinach, Pears and Balsamic Vinagrette
Mozarella and Dehydrated Olives
Pesto and Tomato
Coconut curry with tempeh
Classic veggie and mozarella
Mediteranean with olives, tomatoes and onions
Tahini, tempeh and tomato
Vegan sausage, mozarella, peppers and tomatoes

Yummy!

On economics and the war in Iraq

An excellent NY Times article about the cost of the war and potential alternate uses for the money.

This is really cool...

A 20 min lecture on global health and sources of data. It sounds boring, but it's really a fascinating look at what we know about economics and health data. The graphical presentation of the data are really amazing.
