Parkour

This evening I was randomly browsing rock climbing web pages and stumbled on a sport called Parkour. Basically the idea is to get from point A to point B in the fastest and most direct manner possible. (Points A and B are completely arbitrary.) It's usually practiced in urban areas so you have all manner of obstacles (fences, walls, ditches, trees, railings, buildings, cars, etc.)

Practitioners of Parkour are called traceurs (or tracers). You can probably tell that the sport was developed by a French guy.

There are some pretty fantastic videos showing tracers doing their thing. (See the links below. Definitely worth checking out.) It looks pretty cool, but I have no urge to destroy my knees that way.

Slomo

Speed Air Man The beginning is kind of stupid and hyped up, but the rest is pretty cool.

And yes there are female tracers, although they are rare.

BTW, D has forbidden me to try doing this stuff.
