Frustrated

I have no office. I have no cell phone. I have no address. I have no fax machine. I have no printer.

The internet connection I'm using sucks. It's basically too slow for me to consistently access my work email.

My work laptop sucks. They put encryption software on it, so it's slow as dirt. It weighs a lot and is about 11x13 inches. It sucks.

And I have a headache.

And I'm hungry.

Sorry. Just a bad afternoon. I think if I fixed the last two, everything else would seem much more manageable.

Short and sweet

1) We're in Alaska (Anchorage to be specific).

2) We have Alaska driver's license and car registration and library cards.

3) The ferry ride up here was really cool and we saw lots of whales.

4) We made an offer on a house and hopefully close at the end of the month.

5) In the meantime, we're staying at a B&B which is, in a nutshell (no pun intended, re: blog name), kinda weird.

6) We're probably buying an SUV as a second car (argh! my inner environmentalist is having issues with this. more later.)

7) I have no office, no work phone, no printer, no fax and really have no idea what my job entails yet.

8) Seattle was fun (2 weeks there before coming up here), but the supposed "orientation" to my job didn't really happen.

9) Life, in a nutshell, is rather chaotic and unstructured.

10) But I'm loving Alaska.

11) PS: I get to go to Nome in a couple of weeks.

12) PPS: I go to Port Graham in mid-September.

13) PPPS: Look them up on a map to see where they are.
